COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A woman said she was held hostage and attacked for days ahead of a shooting in a neighborhood near an elementary school in Colorado Springsaccording to arrest papers for the woman shot in the incident.


Hannah Viramontes, 26, faces a number of charges in connection with the incident, including assault, kidnapping and false imprisonment.

According to arrest documents, the situation began days before the shooting, on November 30. Police said the woman who shot Viramontes told officers who responded to the scene that she had been held hostage at a home on Kingsley Drive after Viramontes since Saturday evening. was given a citation for shoplifting by CSPD officers.


Police said the victim in the kidnapping case told them she and Viramontes dated for a short period in 2020, ended the relationship but remained friends and lived together.


Police said the victim told them Viramontes “suddenly” punched her in the face when she asked Viramontes about the shoplifting ticket. The victim then told police that Viramontes grabbed the victim’s hidden gun and pointed it at her, threatening to shoot her if she did not comply.


According to arrest papers, the victim was then held in the home, handcuffed and threatened with the weapon, while being both physically and sexually assaulted over the following days. At some point, police said the victim slipped out of the handcuffs Viramontes had placed on her, was able to get the gun back into her possession and shot Viramontes while she was just outside the house.


As of Thursday, Viramontes remains hospitalized and has not yet been booked into the El Paso County Jail.
